Explore Available Aid

Students who participate in the Global Engineering program have access to a number of resources to help them succeed. Student Financial Assistance is here to help make your global impact a reality.

In the first three years of the Global Engineering Program, students participate in regular classes and activities on campus at Missouri S&T. Financial aid during these first three years would be the same as for any domestic student attending S&T. Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year to qualify for financial aid.

Scholarships

Incoming students are encouraged to apply for all scholarships they could qualify for as an incoming student.

FAFSA

A number of financial aid resources are available by submitting the FAFSA each year. These can include both federal grants, loans and work-study as well as other state and university aid. We encourage students to complete the FAFSA by February 1st prior to the start of each academic year to be considered for the most possible aid.

During year four of the Global Engineering Program, students travel abroad to complete a year of studies and internships. During the first half of the year, they will be studying abroad at a number of partner institutions in different countries. More information on study abroad is available at studyaboard.mst.edu.

Study Abroad

There are a variety of aid programs available while you are studying abroad. We encourage all students to review the following list of options early to prepare for your study abroad:

As part of preparing for study abroad, students must complete a study abroad worksheet. Additional information on financing study abroad is available at studyabroad.mst.edu.

Deadlines For Applying For Study Abroad

  • Summer Session, Fall Semester, or Academic Year: Feb. 15
  • Spring Semester: Sept. 15

International Internship Program

During the second half of the year, students will participate in an international internship. Additional information on the type or terms of the internship will be finalized soon.

Students in the Global Engineering Program have a fifth year to complete their dual degree program. While most scholarships are eligible for 8 semesters, students can still qualify for financial aid to cover this additional year.

Students who had originally received an automatic merit scholarship and who have maintained a 3.00 cumulative GPA by the end of their fourth year would qualify for a scholarship equivalent to their automatic merit scholarship (up to $7,000 for the year or $3,500 per semester) for the fifth year.

Additional scholarships are available through Scholarship Universe.

Students can still qualify for any eligible federal and state financial aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

We encourage students to complete the FAFSA by February 1st prior to the start of each academic year to be considered for the most possible aid.
