Overview
Federal loans at Missouri S&T are offered through the Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) program. Student eligibility for Direct Subsidized loans and Direct Unsubsidized loans is determined by the FAFSA. Applications for Direct PLUS loans (for parents and grads) are available through studentaid.gov. Before loan funds can be received by S&T on your behalf, Entrance Counseling must be completed and a Master Promissory Note must be signed.
Entrance Counseling
Entrance counseling ensures you understand the terms and conditions of your loan and your rights and responsibilities. You'll learn what a loan is, how interest works, your options for repayment, and how to avoid delinquency and default.
Exit Counseling
You must complete exit counseling when you leave school or drop below half-time enrollment. The purpose of exit counseling is to ensure you understand your student loan obligations and are prepared for repayment.
